In my part-time role at @Fini, I primarily oversaw the development of the Fini marketplace, leading the project to enhance the shopping feature. My goal was to boost company profits and increase user engagement.

Learnings

  • We don't need vitamins; we need painkillers. This insight actually came from my mentor, Canwin, and it has greatly inspired me. Before developing any product, or more specifically, any feature, I always ask myself, "Do we really need this?" Is it a vitamin (nice to have) for our users, or is it a painkiller (must-have)? This mindset has helped me to better define the priority of a feature.

  • Always focus on developing the MVP.To align with the dynamic nature of a startup company, I establish a vision of what the MVP should look like while drafting requirement documents. This approach ensures our product remains streamlined and closely addresses user pain points.

  • Stay updated with the industry. Initially, it was challenging to familiarize myself with an industry. I began to research competitor companies, follow industry news, and explore potential cross-industry collaboration opportunities to enhance my product sensitivity.
